This series finds inspiration in the many amazing women artists throughout history. I stand on their shoulders as I retrace the way back to my practice. From the emotion of seeing “Mountains and See” by Frankenthaler for the first time to the smile in my brain when I hear a quote by Bourgeois or read that sunflowers were a hidden clue of the suffragist movement, these thoughts transform into secret calligraphies were the quotes are no longer recognisable and only the heartbeat remains. 

For these series I used raw pigments, watercolour and acrylic inks, ink pencils and sticks for my marks on Arches 300 gr/m2 hot pressed watercolour paper.
